In a hot dry environment, Mountainsilk™ is ideal as it slows the rate of evaporation of body water, keeping you cool and comfortable. In colder weather, Mountainsilk™ draws excess moisture away from your body through thousands of microporous cells, and expels it keeping you warm and dry.

Insulation – Mountainsilk™ has a unique structure that gives it superior insulation qualities. There are millions of tiny air pockets not only within Mountainsilk™ fabric, but also in the yarn structure and between the crimped Merino fibres themselves. This trapped air enables Mountainsilk™ to insulate very effectively for optimum comfort and performance.

Moisture management – Each individual fibre in Organic Mountainsilk™ is coated in a natural, water repellent, wax-like substance that actively moves moisture from your skin to the face of the fabric where it can evaporate, while allowing moisture vapour to pass directly through the fibres. This means you stay a lot drier much longer than in other fabrics.

Anti-microbial – Mountainsilk™ is machine washable, but you won’t need to wash it as much as other fabrics, because it is naturally anti-microbial, meaning it stays fresh for longer and resists smells.

Durable – Mountainsilk™ keeps its shape after a lifetime of wear.

UV resistant – Mountainsilk™ has naturally built-in UV resistance, essential protection for your skin from the sun’s harmful rays.

Zque certified – Mountainsilk™ Stretch is Zque certified, a sustainable certification ensuring that the sustainably sourced Merino is grown to specified animal welfare, environmental, social and economic standards. Growers follow guidelines governing soil conservation and the use and development of land, air and water resources. Zque provides a transparent traceability scheme that allows us to identify and track Zque fibre back to the farm.

Certified organic – Organic Mountainsilk™ is made from 100% certified organic Merino. Our organic Merino are bred to be naturally resistant to parasites and are closely monitored to ensure they develop healthy immune systems. They are free from antibiotics, growth promotants and vaccines. We do not dip our organic Merino sheep in toxic chemicals to control external parasites. No synthetic fertilisers are applied to pastures which could then be washed into the eco system.

No mulesing – As animal welfare is extremely important to us, we only use non-mulesed Merino.
