Sustainable style isn’t the only thing we are passionate about at Untouched World™. Our Roydvale Avenue, Christchurch store is home to one of New Zealand’s leading sustainable cafés. Focusing on fresh, lush and plentiful produce, the experienced and dedicated kitchen and café staff source local suppliers who have sustainable practices or grow organic produce. We also only use free range eggs, pork and chicken. A very special feature of our café is the outdoor courtyard area, which is akin to a mini-New Zealand country experience, with running water, ferns and native trees.

Untouched World™ Native Garden Café has an exciting new chef!

We welcome talented Head Chef Stuart Langsford to the UW Café team. Stuart comes to us from Tony Astle’s Stealth Hospitality group where he was Executive Chef overseeing such notable local restaurants as Indochine, Chinwag Eathai and King of Snake. Stuart has also worked for the award winning Pegasus Bay Winery and The Bicycle Thief, as well as a stint in the Michelin Star awarded Manor House at Castle Combe in the UK.

Stuart’s refreshing approach to food is to use only the freshest seasonal produce, organic where possible, sourced from local suppliers to create a modern, tasty menu. Sustainability and ethical methods are very important to Stuart and he endeavours to get to know the story behind where his ingredients have come from, in the process creating a great network of local suppliers to draw from.

Stuart has been busy in the kitchen developing an inspirational menu to showcase his creative talents and is eager to begin this brand new chapter in the Native garden café’s story.

Philosophy - organic, seasonal, locally sourced, free-range

When roaming the world exporting to fashion retail stores, Untouched World™ founder Peri Drysdale developed a palate for really good food with a dedication to perfection she hadn’t found back home in New Zealand. When Untouched World™ was established, we wanted to develop our own food offering to wow all the senses. The Native Garden Café in Christchurch was created as a celebration of New Zealand fare, focusing on clear and clean tastes using local, seasonal produce, organic wherever possible. Organic and locally farmed produce is usually harvested when it is ripe and at peak flavour and nutritional value. Rich soil, farmed without the use of artificial pesticides, produces healthy plants that taste fantastic. Organic farming sustains rather than depletes the land.

We know how important a good cup of coffee is and we only use  Fairtrade certified 100% organic coffee from Hummingbird, a local Christchurch roastery.
