Discovering comfort, versatility & celebration in every layer. Three days, one suitcase, and a considered mix of pieces for Untouched World's 30th Birthday event.
Our Marketing Content Manager, Esme, travelled to Wellington for a special milestone — our 30th Birthday celebration. With the capital's famously unpredictable spring weather and a full calendar of work (and walking), she curated a capsule wardrobe rooted in natural fibres, thoughtful design, and pieces that work hard while feeling effortless.
Here's what she packed, and how she styled it across three days in the city.

Day One — Setting the Scene
I arrived the day before the event to help out with installing our window display for World of WearableArt, a yearly highlight bursting with creativity and inspiration. The weather was classic Wellington spring: cool but not quite cold, calling for clever layering.
I started with the Maelyn Tee in Pearl, soft, breathable, and so versatile and layered over it the Indigo Vest in Cobblestone. There's something refreshing about tonal dressing; the neutral palette makes it easy to mix and match, while different textures bring depth and interest.
On the bottom, I wore my endlessly reliable Tasmyn Shorts from SS24, honestly, I don't think I've stopped wearing them since last season. The structured tailoring meets casual comfort, and they were ideal for clambering around the windows (far more practical than a skirt). My favourite flat boots rounded it all out, comfortable enough for a full day on foot in the city, and just the right amount of warmth.

Day Two — Event Ready
I was excited to wear my Gianna Skirt in Valley Stripe for the event, I'd first worn it at Fashion Week and found it carried just the right amount of 'statement' for an event. It also has pockets, a must whenever you're working an event. I'd originally planned to wear the Indigo Vest alone with the skirt, made possible by it's high sitting waistband. However, the southerly was blowing strong! Luckily I had my Dirt. Fabric spray, which meant I could get another day out of my Maelyn Tee, despite having travelled in it.
The Maelyn Tee is cotton blended with Brewed Protein™ fibre, so washing doesn't release microplastics into the water ways, but it still benefits the planet to wash less. Less water usage and less wear to the garment, means it's a really simple step you can take to help do your bit. I got my bottle at the Kowtow Clothes Swap at Fashion Week, but I'll be purchasing one of their refill packs as soon as it's needed.

Day Three — Winding Down
With no work events on my final day, I wanted to experiment with dressing down my Gianna Skirt. Taking inspiration from the amazing Chloe Hill, I played with clashing colours. While there's not much that compares to THAT Prada cardi, my Nyra Cardi in Wilderness from last season gave a nod to the earthy colours in the stripe and kept me cosy despite the wind. It's also incredibly lightweight, as with all our Ecopossum™, so a great way to pack warmth when you travel, without going over your baggage allowance.

Final Thoughts
Three days. Four core garments. Countless combinations. Each piece in my bag earned its place — not just for how it looked, but for how it made me feel: comfortable, confident, and ready for whatever the day held.
What made this capsule wardrobe work so well were the natural fibres, the intentionally adaptable silhouettes, and the attention to detail in the design. Features like pockets, considered seam placement, and soft, stretchy waistbands that moved with me.
It's pieces like these that make the case for buying thoughtfully. A reminder that when you invest in garments made with care, you really can pack lighter, but live more fully.
