Regenerative Wool
Over 90% of the Merino wool used in our collections is sourced from Glenthorne Station, a ZQ™ certified and ZQRX™ accredited farm.
ZQRX™ is a new and improved standard launched by The New Zealand Merino Company. It is driving a shift towards regenerative practices and farm systems, in which growers aim to give more than they take at a meaningful scale.
Responsible Wool
Glenthorne Merinos are pasture-grazed and live in a 'free range,' extensive farming system in the beautiful Canterbury high country. This system is light on the environment and allows the sheep to express many normal behaviours such as roaming and foraging on high ground.
These are all critical aspects of enabling and supporting positive welfare and moving sheep towards having 'A Good Life.' Glenthorne is only a couple of hours away from our Christchurch workrooms, which enables us to have a meaningful and connected relationship with our growers. As partners and consumers, it's vital that we support responsible growers like Glenthorne and set the bar for the rest of the market. Untouched World is working alongside VAWA and our main suppliers to ensure progress is made towards "A Good Life' for their Merinos.
Our Signature Merino Yarns
Our Signature Merino Yarns” - Each yarn is developed in-house to our own specification — crafted entirely from Glenthorne Merino* wool with its own balance of softness, strength, and ease. Naturally breathable, temperature-regulating, and designed with a specific purpose in mind. (*Mountainsilk Sport does not entirely use Glenthorne Merino, however is ZQRX Merino)
Our Signature Merino Blends
Developed in-house to our own spec, each blend pairs Merino with complementary fibres to enhance durability, structure, and feel. The same natural performance — with added versatility for everyday wear.
